High dose of vitamin b6 supplementation reduces anxiety

Taking high-dose of Vitamin B6 tablets has been shown to reduce feelings of anxiety and by new research.

Scientists measured the impact of high doses of Vitamin B6 on young adults and found that they reported feeling less anxious after taking the supplements every day for a month. Vitamin B6 helps the body produce a specific chemical messenger that inhibits impulses in the brain, and the study links this calming effect with reduced anxiety among the participants.

The study focused on the potential role of Vitamins B6, which is known to increase the body’s production of GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid), a chemical that blocks impulses between nerve cells in the brain.

Dysfunction of the GABA system has been associated with anxiety; drugs that positively modulate GABA receptors are generally anxiolytic, and drugs that negatively modulate GABA receptors are generally anxiogenic. This suggests that an increase in GABA levels due to B6 is responsible for the reduction in anxiety
